1986 Nissan Hardbody SE-V6 4x4.
It doesn’t get any better than this. My old man had an ‘87 Pathfinder SE-V6 4x4 and it was damn near perfect.I wish I could find one of these today.

Only way to make it better is with the Lego wheels.

Feel free to judge me but, these are some of my favourite wheels! I love the Nissan lego rims.

I’ve always been mildly interested to see if they would fit on my second-gen Xterra with an adapter/spacer. I think the 15" wheel would clear with the offset, the trick would be the hub bore.

I’m not a big fan of V6 engines so a straight six would be an improvement. And this is a Nissan so a nice TB48DE (sourced from a Patrol) should be a good engine choice. They didn’t come with turbochargers but they do pair well with these.
Yeah, I’m sure that it would be an extremely tight fit in the engine bay. In my example the engine is sitting in a BMW e39.

I had a set on my first gen ‘03 Xterra. I don’t think the brakes on the D40 are that much bigger.

N50* (D40 is the Frontier). A 15 won’t clear the calipers directly, but I’ve heard an adapter can make them work.
